Frequently Asked Questions

I may be a little biased, but I believe I’m one of the best sleep consultants in the industry.
I come from a science and medical-based background, with a Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and psychology and a Master’s in medical sciences. Both my educational foundation and my certification in sleep training inform my practice, and help me to create effective programs that work.
I also come to the table with my experience as a mama of two kiddos ages-five and under. I sleep trained both of my babies, and through that process I overcame challenges - both in the implementation of the training AND cultural pressures and judgment from my traditional family. That is why culture and diversity is at the heart of what I do, and why I work to incorporate cultural considerations into my sleep training resources.
Your baby and your family’s rest is important, and it’s worth investing in an experienced, certified professional that has helped sooo many other mamas on their journey.
-
Absolutely! Your sleep training program needs to fit your life, not the other way around.
My sleep management support will teach your baby to fall asleep without you around if feeding time is not needed.
If your baby does require nighttime feedings, we will work to differentiate between genuine hunger vs. feeding-to-sleep as a means of self-soothing, and identify action steps to incorporate that into your program.
-
There is no one correct answer on this one, as different sleep professionals have their own thoughts on the threshold to begin sleep training. I have worked with babies as early as 4-weeks-old all the way up to five years old.
As a rule of thumb, I will typically recommend that your baby be 10-11+ weeks, but regardless of age, it is important to be cleared by a pediatrician before beginning sleep training. They know your baby and can ensure that they are developmentally ready.
-
YES! I’ve worked with many mamas that struggle when hearing their child cry out. That is totally normal!
This is a perfect example of why a customized sleep training program is key.
There are a variety of gentle sleep training methods and strategies we can implement to help your baby learn to self-soothe without putting you through emotional agony.
-
This is a concern I hear from a lot of mamas, that makes them skeptical about sleep training. When I sleep trained my own kiddos, at the beginning I felt the same way too!
My children and I have a very strong bond that I believe stemmed from that time in their lives.
If your baby Is getting enough rest they will be happier, and in a better position for healthy development, so by investing in sleep training you’re actually potentially improving that bond by improving their (and your) mood.
-
Every baby is different, so some are more stubborn than others. It’s something we can incorporate into your sleep training program, and it may take a bit longer for them to master self-soothing, but they will eventually get it!
Plus, when your baby is well-rested they’re more likely to be in a good mood, so it’s a win-win.
-
There are a lot of variables that play into when your baby will master sleeping through the night and self-soothing, but you’ll typically see major improvement between 3-10 days.
Be sure to grab my guide on tricks you can implement to start seeing improvements as early as tonight!
